Klet Brda Bagueri Chardonnay 2021

Drink it now or cellar for up to 10 years. No need to decant it but best to open it half an hour before service. Located in the Gorika Brda wine region of Slovenia, on the border with the Italian Collio, the Klet Brda cooperative winery brings together around 400 winemakers. The vineyards, that are treated with sustainable practices, extend over approximately 1000 hectares. Here the vines, mainly planted with white varieties, enjoy a particularly favorable microclimate and soils that guarantee excellent minerality in the wines. The Chardonnay grapes come from terraced vineyards located between 50 and 250 meters above sea level, with plants aged between 10 and 30 years. The harvest is manual and fermentation takes place in French oak barriques, where the wine then rests for 12 months, before blending and a further refinement phase in large barrels. Klet Brda Bagueri Chardonnay shows a beautiful bright yellow color with some golden highlights. Its aromatic profile is full and broad with fresh notes of citrus, melon, and stone fruit, followed by hints of hazelnuts and vanilla. In the mouth, it has a good consistency and a marked mineral vein. It is silky and rich, but also fresh and well-balanced. Perfect with veal ossobuco, or with mushroom and truffle risotto.
