In Italy, Ruffino is a name with some weight behind it. The winery was founded in 1877 by Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino, in the city of Pontassieve outside Florence. The family are famed throughout Tuscany and have racked up numerous gold medals over the previous century, ever since their first wine at the Milan Wine Exhibition in 1881. This Prosecco marks the winerys foray into Northern Italy, utilising top-class Glera grapes from the region of Veneto. The palate is crisp and refreshing, with mouth-puckering dryness. Clean notes of orchard fruits, wisteria and lemon zest shine through, with buttery hints of brioche and nuts. Pure, vibrant acidity provides a through line, leading into a sharp and thirst-quenching finish.
