Drink it now or cellar for up to 20 years. It is recommended to decant it for an hour. Located in La Morra, in the heart of the Langhe, the Oddero winery is one of the oldest in the area. Its origins date back to the early 19th century. The winery was developed primarily by Giacomo Oddero, but the work continues today with his daughter Mariacristina and her children Isabella and Pietro. The vineyards, located in some of the most prestigious crus of Barolo and Barbaresco, extend over approximately 35 hectares, half of which are planted to Nebbiolo. Barbaresco Gallina Oddero is made from Nebbiolo grapes grown on marl soils with a good percentage of very fine sand. After fermentation, the finished wine ages for 2 years in oak and another 6 months in the bottle. The result is an elegant and expressive wine. In the glass, the wine reveals a brilliant ruby color with garnet highlights. Its aromatic profile features all the typical character of Nebbiolo, with notes of small red fruits, violets, and spicy hints. On the palate, it is robust, well-structured, and intense. It has enveloping, soft tannins and a well-balanced acidity. It is distinctive and harmonious with a long, slightly spicy finish. Try it with beef Stroganoff and pappardelle with porcini mushrooms.
