The wine is crafted from 40% Pinot Noir and 60% Chardonnay. It is vibrant from the beginning - a light red colour with pink bubbles, bursting with scents of red berries, orange peel, dried herbs, and tropical hints of watermelon. The family winery is currently run by Ren Coutier, whose father was the first person to plant Chardonnay in the regions rich clayish soils. Coutier wines are an affordable and delicious way to start exploring Champagnes Grand Crus. On top of that, the Coutier family sells 80% of their grape yields to a local cooperative, so each of their bottles is something of a collector's item. This ros brings a fine, persistent perlage to the mouth, which is a sign of a great Champagne. It is rich and layered, offering flavours of strawberry, grapefruit, caramel, and lime zest. The Coutier familys 9 hectares are packed with nutritious soils, which lend a crisp minerality to the finish. This Ros is perfect for pairing with chicken, soft pungentcheese, and fresh summer salads.
