Bailly-Lapierre Cremant de Bourgogne Reserve Brut

From Frances second region for sparkling wine, this Brut Crmant de Bourgogne explodes with a delicate nose of pear, lemon rind, and freshly baked apple pie. It exhibits a fine, creamy mousse in the glass, with a golden yellow colour. It is crafted from a mixture of red and white grapes: Chardonnay and Aligot meet Pinot Noir and Gamay, all harvested from the famed region of Burgundy. Bailly-Lapierre was founded in 1972, as one of the first and foremost producers of crmant in France. Its cellars can be found deep underground, buried almost 50 metres deep in Tonnerre stone. This is perhaps what the region of Bailly is best known for extensively quarried since the Middle Ages, it has lent its bedrock to some of the most famous landmarks in France, including the Pantheon and the Notre Dame Cathedral. In the mouth, this reserve crmant is loaded with crisp and vibrant textures. Flavours of apple, lemon, and red berries dance on the palate, complemented by a creamy mousse and a long finish with clear minerality. It is one of the most accessible and easy-drinking wines in Bailly-Lapierres range, perfect for a small gathering. Consider pairing it with seafood, roast poultry, and soft, pungent cheeses.
