Founded in 2000, the Uruguayan winery Familia Deicas produces high-quality wines by applying sustainable viticulture and always seeking the maximum expression of terroir. The vineyards extend over approximately 60 hectares and the winemaking practices are led by Santiago Deicas. The Tannat grapes are carefully selected from vineyards located in the coastal areas of Maldonado, Canelones, and San Jos where temperatures, influenced by the proximity of ocean breezes, favor rapid maturation of the skins and seeds, resulting in an excellent concentration of the polyphenolic compounds responsible for the color of the wine. The result is a fragrant and very balanced wine that is not aged in wood and is a pure expression of the Tannat grape. Atlntico Sur Reserve Tannat has an intense color with purple tones. On the nose, it reveals a fresh and fruity aromatic profile with notes of raspberry, cherry, blueberry, and strawberry followed by floral hints of violet, and herbs. On the palate, the wine is full, fruity and lively. It has a good body and a well-balanced acidity. The finish is long and recalls mineral notes. Perfect with grilled meat or pork shank.
